The Chesterfield u3a Annual General Meeting 2026 was  held at 2pm on Wednesday 4 March 2026 at the SMF Group Stadium (Chesterfield Football Ground).

Alan Cornwell, Chair, thanked our members for attending and reviewed
the past year. He also thanked those who have offered to use their
skills and experience to support the organisation, and we are following
up on these.

A number of changes to the Committee were voted on:

Sue Davies was elected as Business Secretary

Judy Stone was elected as New Members Supporter, and with
responsibility for coordinating monthly open meetings
refreshments and the meet and greet volunteers.

Trish Hibbert was elected as Assistant Treasurer

The existing trustees were re-elected with the exception of the
following people who are retiring from the committee:
Irene Wilkinson, Richard Turley and Val Myers. They were each
presented with a gift in appreciation of their contributions. The
Chairman also thanked Pat Jackson for her work as Refreshment
Coordinator.

After the AGM, members listened to a talk given by Keith Brook on
behalf of the charity RNV Nepal. The charity supports a school in the Khokana
village. One of our members, Lynn Bowler, went out to assist on a visit
to the school last year, and she described her experience both of the
beautiful mountain scenery and conducting health checks on the
children.
